Designing Our Most Iconic Necklace [Part One]
Ever since the idea of Joya Jewellery was born, we have always thought that it would be amazing to create a piece that represents everything we stand for.
With that in mind, last year we worked very closely with our logo designer, specifically looking for a design that not only represented our mission but could also be made into our very own signature jewellery line.
Today, more than 12 months later, we are proud to announce our first piece!
The idea behind our jewellery piece
Over the past eight weeks we have been working closely with our design and production team and as sample production begins to approach completion, we couldn’t wait to share it with you!
So how did it all start?
Well, we began with a computer-generated mock-up of the logo to help us conceptualise the idea and make sure all the dimensions and sizing look just right.
Once the team is happy with the look of the pendant, we 3D printed the necklace to be 100% sure everything looks perfect across all the dimensions.
Luckily everything looked great and we were able to move on to the next stage.
Our production team then began work on casting the pendant in silver. This stage was super exciting as we were finally able to see the pendant in silver metal!
To get the silver pendant ready for plating we gave it a good polish to make everything shine. While the pendant lost some of its nice square edges, when everything is plated and polished up everything will look perfect!
As we write this blog post the pendant is going through the plating stage ready to be sent to our headquarters in Tasmania. In the meantime, join the family and follow us on Instagram and Facebook so you don’t miss any updates and stay tuned for further updates on our pieces.
